Zermatt is located in the upper part of Mattertal in the District of Visp in the Canton of Valais, Switzerland. Travel to Zermatt

AIRPORTS

Zermatt is only a few hours from the international airports of Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Milan and also has its own heliport, which is operated by the Air Zermatt company.

RAIL

You can also get to Zermatt by train. The Swiss Rail network is world famous for its efficiency and a convenient way to travel within Switzerland. From Zurich it is about 3 hours, from Basel about 3 hours, and from Bern about 2 hours. From Tasch you can take the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway shuttle train which runs between Tasch and Zermatt every 20 minutes.

TRANSFERS

We can arrange for a mini bus, taxi, or chauffeur-driven service from your chosen airport to your luxury chalet in Zermatt. Depending on the airport, transportation time may vary but it is about 3 to 4 hours by car to Zermatt.

SELF-DRIVING

Zermatt is car free so private traffic is only allowed up to Tasch which is about 5 km before Zermatt. There are car parks in Tasch but most of them are located at the Matterhorn Terminal Tasch. Some of the car parks have taxi ranks outside so you can catch a taxi to and from Zermatt.
