JERUSALEM - THE HOLY CITY

The Holy City For 3 Major Religions.

Jerusalem Forever

Internationally renowned for its diversity, Jerusalem is a must stop for everyone and has so much to offer

THE AREA

Jerusalem is considered to be the cultural, spiritual and national center of Israel. It is also a holy city to Islam and Christianity, and one of the oldest cities in the world. The City of Gold, as it has come to be known, is a fascinatingly unique place where the first century rubs shoulders with the twenty-first century, each jostling for legitimacy and space, and where picturesque "old" neighborhoods nestle against glistening office towers and high-rise apartments. It is one of those places which has to be seen to be believed.

RESTAURANTS

From the great atmosphere of Machneyuda to the elegance of Mona to the abundant offerings at Chakra, Jerusalem offers a wide range of excellent and surprising food. Jerusalem offers innovative dining options that are full of character and don’t compromise on quality. It brims with a splendid variety of culinary attractions that appeal to many tastes and still preserve some of the city’s unique charm. Whether you’re in the mood for a lavish breakfast, a relaxing meal with the family or a late night snack with a drink to round out your evening, you can find it in Jerusalem.

NIGHTCLUBS AND BARS

Night owls will find an attractive mixture of stylish bars with live music, fashionable clubs with DJ music, and chilling lounges in Jerusalem. All of them have one thing in common: their international and laid-back atmosphere.

Activities

Holy sites, culture, culinary creations, architecture -- Jerusalem has a lot of everything to offer for everyone.

THE OLD CITY

You need at least one day – if not three — to visit Jerusalem’s most famous holy sites located inside the Old City walls. There’s the Western Wall, Temple Mount, Dome of the Rock (Al-Aqsa Mosque), Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Hurva Synagogue and Via Dolorosa, among others. Take your time walking from site to site by getting lost in the alleyways of the shuk, taking in all the shops selling souvenirs, pottery, olive-wood mementos, clothing and food. Each quarter of the Old City – Armenian, Jewish, Christian, Muslim – has its own ambiance and vibe. As there’s a story behind practically every stone of the Old City, this is the place to get familiar with history, theology and archaeology.

MACHANE YEHUDA MARKET

Open up your senses: it’s time to see, smell, taste, feel and experience the real Jerusalem. The Machane Yehuda Market is always an exciting place to go. It’s much more than fresh fruit and vegetables. There’s also cheese, wine, halva, exotic spices, coffee, baked goods and ethnic dishes. In fact, the fare mirrors the city’s residents, who hail from a hodgepodge of countries. This is the place to feel the people, food and customs of Jerusalem.

Events

EVENTS

On any given day or night you’ll find Jerusalem alive with events — concerts, festivals, parties and more. The Jerusalem Wine Festival in the summer, the Jewish High Holidays in the fall, Christmas and the Shaon Horef Festival in the winter and Passover and Easter in the spring are just some of the highlights.
