Before You Begin
You'll need

• An active Hostaway account containing the properties you'd like to distribute through Smiling House.
• Your personalised Smiling House connection link (sent by email and beginning with https://dashboard.villatracker.com/connect/...).

If you don't have your connection link, simply email [email protected] and we'll send you a new one.

Step 1: Generate Your Hostaway API Credentials

1. Sign in to your Hostaway dashboard.
2. Go to Marketplace and search for Smiling House.
3. Click Connect, then Create to generate your API credentials.
4. Copy your:
   • Account ID
   • API Secret Key

Please note that your API Secret Key is displayed only once, so be sure to save it securely.

Step 2: Connect to Smiling House

1. Open your personalised Smiling House connection link.
2. Select the Log in to Hostaway tab.
3. Enter your Account ID and API Secret Key.
4. Click Connect to Hostaway.

We'll validate your credentials directly with Hostaway. Once successful, you'll see Connected ✓, and your properties will begin syncing automatically.

What Happens Next?

Once connected:

• Your listings are imported automatically.
• Availability, pricing and calendars remain synchronised, typically within minutes of any update made in Hostaway.
• Reservations received through Smiling House are automatically written back to Hostaway, helping prevent double bookings.
• Nightly reconciliation ensures your data remains accurate and up to date.
• Your Hostaway account always remains the source of truth—we never modify or remove your listings.

Your Data Is Secure

Your API Secret Key is validated directly with Hostaway and stored securely using encrypted security standards. It is never displayed again after setup, and you can revoke access at any time from Settings → Hostaway API within your Hostaway account.

Need Help?

Connection failed

• Check that your Account ID contains numbers only.
• Ensure there are no extra spaces when pasting your API Secret Key.
• If you no longer have your API Secret Key, simply generate a new one in Hostaway and try again.

My connection link has expired

Connection links are single-use and time-limited. Please email [email protected], and we'll send you a new one.

I want to disconnect my account

You can revoke the API key at any time from Settings → Hostaway API within Hostaway, or contact [email protected] for assistance.
