THE AREA

The centre of the village consists of a harmonious variety of luxury chalets, restaurants, shops, hotels, and bars. There are numerous pockets of chalet villages dotted about the resort and visitors will find a diverse range of activities and places to explore in the surrounding areas, a popular way to do this is via one of the three mountain railways which offer spectacular views.The pedestrianised traditional village centre of Gstaad is dedicated to shopping where elegant international designer boutiques sit alongside professional sports shops, fine jewellers, and stores offering handcrafted local produce. Some of the other winter activities you can participate in without putting on skis or a snowboard are: hiking, tobogganing, air boarding, and winter biking.
